Timothy Cowan, MSPH

Tim graduated from Bates College in 1991 and received his Masters of Science in Public Health in 1994, from the Arnold School of Public Health, University of South Carolina; his focus of study was epidemiology. Throughout his career, he has been an evaluator, analyst and/or administrator for a number of program evaluation and quality improvement projects- both in clinical and community settings.

Tim currently serves as the Director of Data Reporting and Evaluation in the MaineHealth Center for Health Improvement (CHI).  He is responsible for the MaineHealth Health Index Initiative, support of Community Health Needs Assessment activities by MaineHealth organizations, and program evaluation efforts within CHI.  His daily goal at work is to provide data/information that helps others take action to improve the health of Maine’s communities.

When not working, Tim enjoys sharing adventures with his family and friends, singing in choirs, hiking, biking, boating, drawing, painting, wood-carving, and photography.

Tim joined the HA Advisory Board to contribute his epidemiology skills: to 1) provide population health data that can help Advisory Board members and HA staff identify the most effective actions to take to improve the health of communities across Androscoggin County, and 2) help guide the evaluation of programs implemented.
