HEALTHY ANDROSCOGGIN
30+ Years of
Community Health
What started in 1995 as Tobacco Free L/A has grown into a robust community health organization whose mission is to support an inclusive culture of well-being by providing accessible programming in collaboration with the diverse communities we serve.
Our programming now includes preventing substance misuse, encouraging healthy eating, supporting physically active communities, preventing child lead poisoning, and addressing emerging community health needs and priorities. We’ve grown thanks to funding from the Healthy Maine Partnership in 2000 which allowed us to become Healthy Androscoggin, a Drug Free Communities grant in 2005 that added youth substance use prevention programming, funding from the Maine CDC and Prevention in 2009 to prevent childhood lead poisoning, and SNAP-Ed nutrition education programming in 2013 to support healthy eating on a budget. Thanks to our partners and donors, we have continually met the needs of our community.
