A message to our community
It is with heavy hearts that we share an important update. As part of the recently passed H.R.1 bill, federal funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program – Education (SNAP-Ed) has been eliminated. This takes effect on September 30, 2025, ending SNAP-Ed programming not only in Maine, but nationwide.
Healthy Androscoggin has been honored to provide SNAP-Ed nutrition education for over a decade- to have been able to learn from, and support our community, in a way that has been deeply meaningful to many people and has certainly been meaningful to us. Thank you to all the families, partners, and volunteers that have been a part of this experience over the years, we are grateful to you all.
Please know that Healthy Androscoggin's commitment to nutrition and food access work as a pillar of public health remains unwavering, and future opportunities for this work are being explored.
