Healthy Androscoggin’s Lead Poisoning Prevention Program provides education and resources to the residents and property owners of Lewiston and Auburn to prevent childhood lead poisoning.
Lewiston and Auburn have high rates of childhood lead poisoning in the state, and is designated as a high-risk area by the Maine CDC. Healthy Androscoggin works to prevent lead poisoning by offering the following programs:
Free in-home lead poisoning prevention education services for downtown L-A residents.
Working with local property owners to engage them in lead poisoning prevention activities.
Extensive collaboration with local organizations working on lead poisoning prevention, to ensure that our collective impact is improving the health of children in L-A.
Free workshops, cleaning supplies, and communication campaigns for local homeowners, tenants, and landlords.
Healthy Androscoggin, in collaboration with community partners, has created videos for lead safe practices in a number of languages. Please see below and visit our YouTube channel for our full list of video resources and languages options.
