Det. Renee Bernard

Det. Renee Bernard

Det. Bernard has been employed by the Lisbon Police Department since May 2002. In her current position, she serves as the Juvenile/Domestic Violence Detective. Before this position, Det. Bernard served as a School Resource Officer for 19 years.

She has an Associate’s degree from Southern Maine Community College and is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from Saint Leo University in Sociology.

Det. Bernard is a proud mother of three sons – all grown and flown. Her oldest son is serving in the United States Air Force as a Captain piloting a H-60 helicopter (commonly known as a Blackhawk). She has two younger sons who are twins; one is a special education teacher for the Lewiston School Department and the other is living and working in the Boston area living his best life!

Det. Bernard enjoys traveling, reading (started listening to books via Audible last year on a road trip!), and formerly enjoyed playing ice hockey and running.  Both things she hopes to get back to once college is completed.

Det. Bernard states on joining the Advisory Committee “Honestly, HA feels like family to me!” She has been a member of Project Unite! for 19 years and often collaborated with HA on activities in her community. In fact, Det. Bernard received the Will Bartlett Award in 2016 from HA for her dedication to the youth in her community.
