Rick Whiting

Rick Whiting has been Executive Director of Auburn Housing Authority since 1985. AHA became the third smoke-free housing authority in the country as a direct result of its partnership with Healthy Androscoggin, which laid the groundwork through surveys and tenant meetings to achieve consensus. Rick currently serves on the boards of Maine Preservation, Maine Affordable Housing Coalition (MAHC), and Northern New England Housing Investment Fund. Representing MAHC, he has frequently testified before the Maine legislature on childhood lead poisoning issues and worked with Senator Collins staff to impose a more stringent elevated blood lead level (EBLL) for HUD programs, based on Maine legislation.

He lives in wilds of North Auburn with his wife Bridget and enjoys cycling, golf, hiking, cross-country skiing, etc. He is a graduate of Harvard College and was a classmate of Bill Gates. He is honored to be a part of Healthy Androscoggin.
