Healthy Snacks at Hannaford’s
Snap-Ed worked with Hannafords to offer a fresh fruit snack to kids while they shop with their parents in hopes to encourage kids and their families that healthy eating is still possible, even when on the go.
Androscoggin Gleaners
Androscoggin Gleaners is a recently formed group of individuals and organizations dedicated to connecting people through community-based volunteerism to work toward minimizing food insecurity and food waste in our county. We work with local farms, volunteers, and food access providers to help harvest and deliver surplus produce into the hands of people who can use it.
If you would like to volunteer please contact us through: androgleaners@gmail.com or call (207)330-7881
Edible Lisbon Street
Edible Lisbon Street transforms city streets into places where food and farmers find a space in the public eye. These boxes promote community participation, curiosity about fresh food and local farms. All seeds and plants have been donated by farmers here in Androscoggin County. Fresh produce is the most nutritious food we can give our bodies, and with over 80 farms in this country alone, something we should have more of!
