Registration for Maine SNAP-Ed Nutrition Classes

Please see course descriptions below before making your selection-be sure to note whether your class of choice is being offered in-person or via ZOOM. Submit one form per individual or family unit. If you do not see a class option that works for your current schedule and/or meeting style preference please check at a later date for more options. Course Descriptions - ZOOM and in-person classes available now!

  • Cooking Matters for Teens: A 6-session course commitment for ages 13-17. This series is designed to teach teens how to cook healthy meals and snacks while learning important nutrition concepts. This hands-on cooking course meets once each week, for 6 weeks. Food for cooking will be provided during class.

  • Ten Tips for Adults: A 4-session course commitment for ages 18+. This series is designed to teach adults to shop, cook, and eat healthy on a budget. This discussion-based course meets once each week, for 4 weeks. Materials, food, and incentives will be available in class.            

  • Cooking Matters for Families: A 6-session course commitment for family units of adults and children/teens to learn together. This series is designed to encourage families to work together in the kitchen, cook healthy meals, discuss manners, try new foods, and more! A great class for the whole family - bring your grandchild or sibling! This hands-on course meets once each week, for 6 weeks. Food for cooking, incentives, and resources will be provided during class.

  • Cooking Matters at the Store: A one-time class for ages 18+. This class is designed to help you make healthy choices at the grocery store. Topics include label reading, identifying whole grains, using unit prices and more. A $10 Hannaford gift card will be given directly to you upon class completion.    

  • Cooking Matters for Parents and Caregivers: A 6-Session series, OR drop-in for however many classes you’d like, for parents and caregivers of children 0-5. This class is designed to help parents and caregivers involve their child in cooking and snack prep, try new snack and meal ideas, explore food, and learn nutritional concepts. Children are welcome to attend and activities and food will be provided.       

  • Cooking Matters Event Day- A one-time event at Hannaford where participants self-guide themselves through stations set up around the store. Topics taught include information on whole grains, produce, protein and dairy choices. A $10 Hannaford given upon completion of this self-guided tour.
